Let Father be the Potter
It is funny how we like to direct our own steps, I chuckle to myself when I think about it. Getting our directions via the Holy Spirit is filled with so much more joy. When we do what Father directs He backs up what He says and His words are backed up with miracles. It is so awesome how this works.
I was in the back yard just on a garden walk with Him and this verse came to mind. I had memorized it from King James but He directed me to read it from Weymouth. So here it is.
1Co 2:9-10. But–to use the words of Scripture–we speak of THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN NOR EAR HEARD, and which have never entered the heart of man: ALL THAT GOD HAS IN READINESS FOR THEM THAT LOVE HIM. For us, however, God has drawn aside the veil through the teaching of the Spirit; for the Spirit searches everything, including the depths of the divine nature.
Then I read it again, and again. So then we go to where it was written. All I can say is WOW!
Isa 64:1-8 Oh that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains might quake at your presence—as when fire kindles brushwood and the fire causes water to boil— to make your name known to your adversaries, and that the nations might tremble at your presence! When you did awesome things that we did not look for, you came down, the mountains quaked at your presence. From of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides you, who acts for those who wait for him. You meet him who joyfully works righteousness, those who remember you in your ways. Behold, you were angry, and we sinned; in our sins we have been a long time, and shall we be saved? We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away. There is no one who calls upon your name, who rouses himself to take hold of you; for you have hidden your face from us, and have made us melt in the hand of our iniquities. But now, O LORD, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.
Father gave us His Holy Spirit and made us His sons and daughters. Christ bought and paid for us, we are now the temple of God, His Spirit lives in us. So who should be directing our steps? Us or Him? The answer is obvious… now it is our job to be that new creation He made us in Christ. Bring it on.
You are now our Father and our Potter, help us become your love manifested.
