ARE WE HUMBLE?
Php 2:8-11 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
He is our example, how we are supposed to walk with the Father. If we think we know everything we are in so much trouble. Our true self worth is found in “Who we are in Christ.“ Do you know who you are in him?
Psa 25:9,10 He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble his way. All the paths of the LORD are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.
Are we coachable? Are we willing to learn new things or do we hold on to what we think we know?
Therefore, whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:4
I was watch my wonderful grandson the other day while his Dad was showing him how to make a puppet. He was watching his Dad’s every move. Asking questions, listening to instructions. Intent on learning something new. The reality is if we want to walk like the Lord Jesus Christ we must be coachable. Willing to follow directions and see, we get to grow.
‘God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6
“For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” Luke 14:11
“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” James 4:10
“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.” 1 Peter 5:6
If we are proud and boasting of our own thoughts and desires the word is not alive and active in us. Christ was never selfish or boastful and he actually had every right to be. He always did the will of the Father and so can we.
